My name is Helena Zagrijtschuk. I am an artist and children's book author. I live and work since 2000 in Austria, in the beautiful city of Vienna.

(Me) I was born in the family of artists, always surrounded by creativity and art throughout my childhood. This enabled me to always be open to creative experiments, to see beauty around me, to think aesthetically.
I was born in a family of professional artists, permanently surrounded by art and creativity throughout my childhood. This helped me to always stay open to creative experiments, to see the beauty around me, to think aesthetically and creatively.
Since my childhood, I love stains, textures, ornaments and mixing colours. After graduating from Ivan Trush Art School, I continued my academic studies in Vienna (architecture and design, fashion and creative pedagogy).
This was followed by numerous courses in the field of creativity. Enjoying to go my way as an artist, expanding the boundaries of my creativity and sharing it with others.

My work is related to emotions. I pour my feelings into the paintings, working intuitively, listening to myself, trusting myself and my feelings At the end of the day, my art is about finding connection.
Connection with yourself, connection with emotions. It's a therapeutic search process! For me, self-expression means letting my hands express emotions on the surface of the canvas.
The feeling of connection with nature helps to be in harmony with myself. I aminspired by the sounds of nature and music. Everything that surrounds us is diverse, but exists I harmony and combination.
My work is about the power of authentic expression. Authentic art heals, lights the way for others, and connects on deeper levels. Irregularities and layering create a living active tactile surface. The picture breathes! The artpiece is alive!

I work on several artpieces at once, exploring the same idea or theme in different ways. This is how small series of works are created, for example series of three, six or nine squares, which are combined with each other in color and compositionally. Working on many pieces at the same time allows me to express myself freely without being too self-controlling.
I am inspired by fascinating intersection of reality and fantasy. These paintings have something mysterious in them. I often use bright, neon
accents to emphasize the mystery even more.

Every of us is a small grain of majestic nature, a drop in an endless ocean, a seed that sprouts again through torment and darkness. And at the same time, we are all the big One. We are born, get to know the world, learn and mature. Passing through the strings of our soul all the vibrations of the surrounding world, accumulating our energy in action and creation.
We transform in this process of cognition and at the end of each stage of development, we reject what has already passed away, release our works and creations into eternity, still leaving a piece of each in our heart. And once again we muster the inner strength to recover and be reborn through the search and sense of self.
The creative process takes a journey from the beginning to the final phase, the creation and experiencing of all these components and the sensations accompanying them. Permeating this, time seems to stand still... You feel the power and incredible beauty of the world, accept it and dissolve in it.

And then the next stage ends, the painting is crystallized, drawn out, finished... a couple more lines, you add the last spot somewhere... At the end, you sign and let it go again, keeping the memories. The ability to let it go is as difficult as giving a birth and is often accompanied by fear and inner doubts. But having this being done, be ready again for the birth of a new one!
First, in the heart, listening to sensations, intuitively... images are created, circle in thoughts, ripen, where an idea with a special mood appears and then pours out in a stream of colours on the canvas. Stay in this creative flow as long as you feel it is necessary, feel all these steps, ups and downs. Accept it and let it go again...

I start with and from nature, from the natural elements. I want to convey the mood!

These paintings have something mysterious in them. I often use bright, neon accents to emphasize the mystery even more.

Gradually accumulating textured layers, I observe the intuitive creation of relief structures, as well as select the color scheme with acrylic paints. It's all part of the creative process. Allowing the picture to develop naturally, I look for a balance between color and texture, between line and spot, between disorder and order.
